Pancreas Transplants by Category

United States pancreas transplants by recipient category from 1988 through 1999 are shown in Figure 26. The majority of all transplant cases per year were SPK, with PAK increasing significantly over time to more than 10% per year and PTA remaining relatively constant at about 4-5% per year.

Pancreas transplants outside the US reported to the IPTR between 1988 and 1999 are shown by recipient category in Figure 27. The vast majority of the cases were SPK as in the US, but compared to US totals, the proportion of PAK and PTA transplants was lower.
