Total Number of Pancreas Transplants

As of October 3, 2000, over 16,000 pancreas transplants have been reported to the International Pancreas Transplant Registry (IPTR) as shown in Figure 34. These include over 11,000 performed in the United States and over 4,000 from outside the US. Year 2001 reporting is not yet complete; known cases reported as of October 10, 2001 total 1252: 1007 US and 245 non-US. Pancreas transplant cases in 2000 reported as of October 10, 2001 totaled 1835: 1346 US and 489 non-US. Reported cases for 2000 and 2001 were included in analyses where complete records were available.
