USA Pancreas Retransplant Graft Survival


Graft survival rates for 1999-2003 US DD SPK, PAK and PTA retransplants (Figure 10) did not differ significantly from each other.  However, SPK showed a significant difference between retransplant and primary transplant one year GSRs (69% vs. 84.7%). This difference was due primarily to technical failure (TF): 19% retransplant vs. 9% primary (p=0.005). But for PTA and for PAK, the largest number of retransplants, the pancreas retransplant GSRs were similar to that for primary transplants (Figure 8): 73% vs. 78.2% PTA; 77% vs. 78.5% PAK.
