USA SPK, PAK and PTA Patient Survival


Patient survival at one-year for 1999-2003 US deceased donor (DD) pancreas transplants was at least 94% in all categories and highest in PTA: SPK 95%; PAK 94.9%; PTA 98.4% and at least 88% in all categories at 3 years (Figure 7). Patient survival rates have been at least 89% since the earliest eras (1987-92) and 94-97% in the most recent era (2001-03). Ten-year patient survival rates for the1987-92 era were 63% SPK, 54% PAK, 68% PTA.  This is the only era at this time for which 10-year survival can be calculated.
