FOR 2000-2004 US CASES
Technical failure (TF) rates in 2000-2004 US DD primary transplants were higher for ED vs. BD, but it was significant only in SPK (p=0.005). There were no significant differences for TF in ED systemic vs. portal drainage. Pancreas graft thromboses were higher in ED vs. BD SPK and PAK, which reflects in the higher overall TF rate for ED vs. BD (Table 3). By multivariate analysis (Table 4), the HR for TF was lower for BD PAK and SPK, (0.45p=0.04 and 0.65p=0.08 respectively); no effect of BD vs. ED was seen for PTA.
